Description
Hands-on projects to get kids ages 5 to 10 excited about science. As kids grow older, they become more curious about the world around them, often asking, “How does this work?” Awesome Science Experiments for Kids teaches young brains the nuts and bolts of the scientific method using fun, hands-on experiments designed to show kids how to hypothesize, experiment, and then record their findings. With awesome projects like a Fizzy Rocket, Magnet-Powered Car, and Pencil Sundial, kids will have a blast learning to build, design, and think critically―while getting inspired to interact with the world around them and make their own discoveries. Awesome Science Experiments for Kids includes: 100+ STEAM EXPERIMENTS: With interactive activities for science, technology, engineering, art, and math, kids can learn how and why each project works. EASY-TO-FOLLOW INSTRUCTIONS: Step-by-step experiments simplify engineering to guide kids and make the STEM experiments and art projects clear and simple to do. COLORFUL PHOTOS: Refer to real-life photos that show experiments and many of the common household materials they use, as well as some of the final results! From learning how quicksand works to turning a lemon into a battery, these experiments teach budding STEAM kids how cool it is to be curious.

As many of us did, bought this during COVID and distance learning to supplement some of the STEAM activities that would have been more hands on if there was in person learning. We ended up conducting maybe a dozen or two of the 100+ experiments. Sure, if you searched online, you could probably find these same experiments laid out in some video or website for free. There is something to having a reference that my kid can look through and choose what catches the eye or gives them ideas to design their own experiment. We still use it today even back to in person learning, mainly to get ideas and not having to turn to Google or online help.

I bought this book as a gift for a child who loves science and it was a hit! It’s full of cool experiments and is a great way to encourage interest in STEM.

We use this book for elementary school science fair ideas and rainy days. Clearly written directions; and most items are things you can find right around your house.

I bought these for Christmas for our 12 year old granddaughter and 12 year old grandson (different parents) who both have a preference for science. Our granddaughter loved the book and couldn’t wait to try the experiments – and was thrilled to hear that her cousin (who she is close to) has the same book so they could get together on some experiments.
