And best of all, he doesn’t have to do ANY work! But then the crayon starts acting weird. It’s everywhere, and it wants to do everything. Hey, I want to know if you and I can agree on something. Because it can’t just be me. But hands down, the best week of the entire school year all through elementary was when they had the Scholastic Book Fair, right? Those classic books that defined our childhood. Was it Goosebumps? Where the Wild Things Are? Choose Your Own Adventure?, Well, this book captures the spirit of that wonderful week., Our Little Girl first fell in loves with Creepy Carrots. The first of the three books in the “Creepy Tales” series. Then, it was Creepy Pair of Underwear. So when Creepy Crayon was published in the Fall of 2022, there was no doubt in our mind. My Wife and I both knew we absolutely needed to order for our Daughter. And she loves it., Look, there’s no reason for you to not buy this book today. I have yet to hear about any kid not liking this book. Know what’s kinda weird? The only 1-star reviews for this book don’t even have to do with what the kids who got the book thought about it. They were negative reviews from adults who didn’t “get” the book, as far as understanding what makes it interesting. It would be like ordering a skateboard for your child or grandchild, the kid loves it, but you leave a one-star review for it. Because you “just don’t get” what’s so interesting about skateboarding. As grown-ups, we’re simply not the target audience for this book (even if we happen to enjoy it just like our child does)., So I do think it’s a little unfair to give this book a negative review, just because you don’t find it interesting, or assume that maybe a three year old would be afraid of the story. So I say ignore the handful of negative reviews, which weren’t even about what the kids thought. The positive reviews speak for themselves., Order the book. When you get done reading this review, add it to your shopping cart. Check out. It will show up at your door (or wherever you have it shipped) in about a week or less. It’s only fifteen bucks. That’s it. Two people can spend that much in a fast food drive-through. It’s the price of just three frozen coffees. My point is this: we all might spend $15 on something that we only get to enjoy one time (food in particular). So why not take $15, and put it towards something your child or grandchild can actually enjoy for years? Maybe even pass it along to their own children. It’s also a big plus that the time they spend reading, or being read to, means a little less “screen time” in their life. They get to unplug from their video games, the TV, the tablet, the Nintendo Switch, whatever. And just use their imagination while they read, or have it read to them., And if you’re gifting someone else’s child or grandchild, you can’t beat a good book. Nothing wrong with buying a child a toy. But gifting a book tells the parents something. That you were thoughtful enough to find their child something both entertaining and educational. Instead of just roaming the toy aisle at Walmart, picking something out that maybe they’ll like, maybe they’ll forget about after one day. I think a book as a gift says a lot about the person gifting it., So buy the book today. The holidays are right around the corner. Don’t run the risk of putting it off, only to find that the book is sold out online and in stores. Order it now, so you at least have that one gift ready and waiting for the holidays. As parents who care about our child’s imagination and literacy, my Wife and I both are really happy we ordered this book for our Little Girl.

I pre-ordered this book because my kids have two previous creepy books from the same series. So fun to read the book and kids love it too.

  4. T’smom

Cute book, and it was cheaper than the book fair at my son’s school was selling it.
