I have seen IHOS recommended everywhere but hesitated to dive in because I’m not a fan of the spoiled FMC theme. This was a pleasant surprise because while Piper presents herself as a little vapid in the beginning, she really has so much character under that persona., I really enjoyed Piper and Brendan together. Piper brought forth much needed change to Brendan’s daily routine. She is also the catalyst to him finally moving on from his dead wife. I’m always a little worried when the MMC is a widower because I hate the “second love” trope. In this case, Piper is truly the love of Brendan’s life. His wife and him were friends more than soulmates. I really loved being there in the town of Westport and can’t wait to read the next book., My only complaint is I wish I could’ve read Piper’s mom’s reaction to their relationship. Maybe that is covered in the next book though. Overall, this was a fun and steamy read!

Do you think Amazon sells recharging stations?, A girl could get used to having one of those around., I kid, but yesterday when my husband wrapped his arms around me, I knew exactly what Piper meant when she called Brendan her recharging station., It Happened One Summer by @tessabaileyisanauthor was so good., It made me laugh, cry, swoon, clench my thighs together., Piper is an L.A socialite who is allergic to responsibility. Her stepfather decides it’s time for her to prove she is capable of being an adult at 28., He ships her off to a small fishing town where her biological father owns a bar., Piper and her sister Hannah are fish out of water in Westport. Locals, especially Brendan a grumpy captain, think they won’t last a week., Slowly Piper carves out a place in the town and in Brendan’s life., This was a ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ read for me. I found Piper to be a little immature in the beginning (probably the point) but she won me over with her big heart., And Brendan, well, you should read it and swoon for yourself.

This book was really good, better than I thought it would be. I only gave it 4/5 ⭐️ because it took me a few chapters in before I was fully into it. It is the perfect mixture of sweet & sexy. Let me tell you I was NOT expecting the sex scenes to be so spicy. & oh Captain Brendan is a MAN MAN😍 I love how much everyone evolved through the book! I would definitely recommend it to anyone who is in a book slump or wants an easy pick me up book!, I couldn’t choose a favorite character because I loved them all.

This was a sweet & hot romance. I enjoyed reading it and seeing the development of the characters. Typical romance novel with some spicy parts that were surprising enough I had to reread one of them to make sure I understood what was happening! 🔥 I can’t wait to read the next one!

Oh wow! By far my favorite Tessa Bailey book! Piper and Brendan are so good together and bring out the best in each other! Such a good feel good romance that warms your heart! Even though the characters are polar opposites, they perfectly complete each other., Piper was a Hollywood “it” girl, who loves attention, and is the definition of an influencer. Her love life isn’t as glamorous though. Her relationships last three weeks max because there is “nothing special about her”. Her last relationship ended in public humiliation causing her to spiral. She trespasses into a hotel where she finds herself in jail. As punishment and to learn her lesson, her stepfather ships her off to Westport, a small pacific town in the Northwest. The same place her father died at sea and Piper will now live for three months renovating the bar she inherited. Thankfully her younger sister Hannah has no intention to leave her alone on this journey!, The sexy, charming, widowed captain Brendan acts judgmental around her, thinking he’s dealing with a spoiled brat who will run after spending one night in Westport. But Piper proves him wrong as she slowly gets under his skin. He can’t stop thinking about her and after 7 years passed since his wife’s death, he starts to think maybe he deserves a second chance. Can they find their happy ending?, Overall: Smart, heartfelt, entertaining, and amazing chemistry! I truly could not put the book down.
