We love the indestructibles books, and for the most part they are in fact indestructible! You should know however that they don’t rip, tear, or dissolve when wet, but they DO MELT in contact with hot surfaces. I left it on the kitchen counter and someone must have put a hot item on top of it. Most of the pages were ok but the cover is pretty badly damaged., The books are made of Tyvek which is essentially plastic. This also means that they can’t be recycled except through special Tyvek recycling programs.

The concept is cool. Everything about the book (being indestructible, machine-washable, etc) is awesome. The problem I have with it is that it’s incredibly boring for my baby. My son is nearly 10 months old and is learning to turn pages by himself. The illustrations in this book (while cute/pretty/inclusive) just don’t hold his attention. And there is no story to read at all. Yes, you can make up your own story, but it’s only like 5 pages long. Only so much you can do with that and I am not that imaginative.. Honestly, my kid doesn’t seem to even recognize this as a book, lol. He crumples it and moves it out of the way to get to other books and toys. Not to mention, it looks AWFUL after 30 seconds of introducing it to baby. It crumples up immediately. I wouldn’t buy it again nor purchase their other stories. Unfortunately, it just didn’t work for us. We will stick with heavier books that look/feel like books.

This book is an adorable story but even better – a great baby/toddler book. IT CANNOT BE TORN! My grandson loves it!

Quality is good. “Story” just wasn’t right for us. We are not a mommy & daddy household and we do a different bedtime routine. It would have been nice to know those things about the book before I bought it. I gifted it to a neighbor (not really worth the hassle of returning for $5). I’ll probably just buy her books from stores going forward, so I can see what they say before purchasing them, since there’s really none of that info available in the item descriptions on here.
