Description

The world’s first comic-strip knitting book, Knitstrips presents 22 original patterns, boundless humor, and seriously appealing knitting instruction Inspired, original, and laugh-out-loud funny, knitstrips are patterns and knitting instruction mixed with advice and humorous commentary—and presented in illustrated comic book panels. Launched in 2016 on the mega-popular knitting site Modern Daily Knitting, the strips gained instant popularity and have attracted thousands of avid fans. The book includes 22 brand-new patterns and is designed to mimic a bound collection of comic books in a series: each “issue” with its own cover and wry theme—from yarn stashes to binge knitting—that is close to the heart of knitters. Issues offer four to six knitting patterns each, plus designer highlights and a variety of stories and technical discussions. The result is a fresh, lively knitting adventure that is like nothing the fiber world has seen before.

Really want to love this knitting book but it is very busy. I was really excited for the concept but really have a hard time following the pages. Seems a little over whelming to me. Honestly, maybe I’m just used to the typical knitting book where the instructions and a picture are clear and to the point. I’ve flipped through this book a few times and still find it difficult to clearly make out the patterns. I would recommend this book to a young knitter. This is just the book to spark attention to someone new to the craft!! Great cover and graphics, just a little to busy for me.

I like the projects, patterns. However the “comic book” approach in writing style takes a while to get used to. I wish there was a regular photo of each project to go along with the directions.

A love the comic book features. I think this would be a great book for beginning knitters who are more visually inclined (or any right-brainers). Fun illustrations with easy and attractive patterns.

The word unique is way overused however this really is a unique knitting book! It’s a graphic (illustrated) book and it’s clever, upbeat and colorful. The patterns are more recipes than patterns, simple enough that beginners can enjoy them .Anyone including experienced knitters can get inspiration as well as instruction. Glad I bought it on impulse!
